Oban Sealife Centre

Watching the forecast this morning was not a pretty sight. 100 millimeters of rain was due to fall, but we were determined to have a good day. We deserved it after the last two days.
We got back on the bikes, (lucky they were still there, round the back of some old houses!) and left Oban. The mood was very focused. Less than 5 miles out we found a glorious cycle path 'The 78 route.' Beautiful tarmac took us through woods and around canals.
It was lashing it down, but it didn't stop us, we had a storming pace and really made it come together.... At last! We see a sign for Oban Sealife Centre and in the current climate it's a wonder they need a centre at all.
"We just let them all roam free. As long as you feed them they always come back" the Scottish impressions ensue for some time.

The rain even cleared at points for us to see the beauty around us and it was stunning. Now we see why people flock here!
At Fort William we craved sustenance. We were recommended to follow our cravings whatever they were. Today it turns out we craved two large MacDonald meals, cheese dippers, apple pies and macflurries.

On to Fort Augustus, we carried along old trustee Route 78 (squiggly line has been binned in Scotland as we're not really doing back roads), it got a little off road for a bit, but the views were stunning! Towering pine trees, waterfalls and plush greenery for miles. Got the chance to point out some lichen and moss to Gaz, which kept me happy at least.
At Fort Augustus we got back on the road and we racked it up to fifth gear. Covering 18 miles in just over an hour. It was probably the fastest we've been the whole trip.
