Tour de Shropshire

After yesterdays doubly epic journey we haven't stopped eating. It's a miracle we have found the time to do any cycling today. We are also extremely fatigued and getting sick of the sight of food.
So it was perfect timing to have Ian Stevens join us to help push us both on. I say push, more like drag us kicking and screaming. It was exactly what we needed, we set an average pace of 14.7 miles an hour today with the full panniers on, without Ian we would have set the pace of a 5 year old with the stabilisers off for the first time, so we are dead chuffed. Today was all about getting the job done and getting the day over and done with. And both me and my bum cheeks are happy to see the end of it.
That said, it was still a great day. We met Ian in Hereford and more or less took a straight line up to Wrexham, stopping in Ludlow, where we got Gaz's front brakes finally fixed properly, and Shrewsbury, which is an utterly stunning little place. Although I am very disappointed that we didn't stop at 'The Leaking Tap tavern' in the town of 'Cockshutt.' That was a missed opportunity.
With Ian up front most of the way we got moments of rest bite sitting in his slip stream and seeing the glorious Gold, Greens and Blues of Shropshire. Through your sunglasses the wheat and barley glows vibrant and bright (hashtag no filter!). Its utterly gorgeous.
Thank you goes out to Gareths parents who I have the pleasure of staying with tonight. Tomorrow is a slightly easier day and I'm really looking forward to seeing Liverpool for the first time and crossing the Mersey.
